TPE water hoses are primarily manufactured using an extrusion process. The workflow is straightforward and easy to manage, comprising the following key stages:
Raw Material Preparation
Components such as the SEBS base resin, plasticizers, and anti-aging agents are proportioned according to product performance requirements. After thorough mixing, the materials undergo testing for purity, moisture content, and other parameters to ensure compliance with production standards.
Melt Extrusion
The mixed raw materials are fed into an extruder where the barrel temperature is gradually raised from 190°C to 235°C to ensure full plasticization. A screw with a length-to-diameter (L/D) ratio of at least 20:1 is recommended, combined with a vacuum degassing system to prevent bubble formation in the melt.
Cooling and Shaping
The extruded hose profile is rapidly cooled and solidified using water or air cooling. A haul-off unit is employed to maintain dimensional accuracy and shape stability.
Post-processing and Assembly
The hoses are cut to specified lengths. For certain expandable TPE hose models, additional steps include wrapping the hose with polyester webbing and attaching connectors. Finally, the products undergo performance testing-covering properties such as elasticity and tensile strength-before being packaged for shipment.
